Telugu film industry Platinum Jubilee fete from November 21


Competitions in various events to mark the yearlong celebrations

HYDERABAD: Yearlong celebrations throughout the State will mark the platinum jubilee of the Telugu film industry being jointly organised by the Forum for Children Film-Makers and Low-Budget and Children Film Producers' Guild.

K. Chiranjeevi and N. Gopalakrishna, presidents of the forum and the guild respectively, announced at a press conference here on Tuesday that the event would take off at Indira Priyadarshini auditorium on November 21 with an open forum on "Today's films and TV serials--impact on society." Its stress would be on the need for good films.

A short/documentary film competition, organised by the Centre for Good Films, which was backed by the Forum and the Guild, will be organised, along with contests in essay-writing and cartoons.

Last date

November 7 is the last day for submitting the entries.
Cash awards of Rs.10,000, Rs.5,000, Rs.1,000 and Rs.1,000 each will be presented to each of the first prize winners of the best short feature film, best documentary, best essay and best cartoon respectively on November 21. Well-known persons of the industry will contribute the award amounts.
