Joice Flueckinger from Emory University and K.Vimala from the University of Chicago were here on the SVU campus at the invitation of Vice-Chancellor S.Jayarama Reddy.
In the course of her interface with the HoD and other faculty members of the SVU's Department of Telugu Studies, Dr. Flueckinger said that as part of her research project on folk culture, she was currently engaged in a critical study of the famous `Tirupati Gangajathara' ( తిరుపతి గంగాజాతర )-- an annual folk festival observed with a lot of fanfare in the temple city. She acknowledged that she could secure a lot of useful information and data on the festival and other related subjects and thanked the university for its collaborative efforts.
