TTD to celebrate Annamayya fete

Simultaneous celebrations at Tirumala, Tirupati, Tiruchanur, Tallapaka and Kadapa

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams is gearing itself for an elaborate celebration of saint-poet Tallapaka Annamacharya's 503rd Aradhana festival. Significantly, the fete would be observed simultaneously at Tirumala, Tirupati, Tiruchanur, Tallapaka (his birth place) and Kadapa (his home district) for seven days from March 26.

The highlight would be opening ceremony at Tirumala in the wee hours of March 26, when the deities of Lord Venkateswara and his two consorts along with the bronze icon of Annamayya would be taken in a colourful procession.
